The Sinner's Prayer Defended

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:8-13

The Bible over and over emphasizes calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation. In fact, the doctrine of calling upon the name of the Lord has its origins back in Genesis with the first generation of people on the earth. Adam and Eve were still alive when the Bible says men began to call upon the name of the Lord:

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:26

People will come along and try to say that the sinner’s prayer is unbiblical. They’ll say that praying a prayer and asking for eternal life is works. These vain janglers are actually saying that if you ask for something, it is no longer a gift.

What if I went down to the welfare office and asked for a welfare check or food stamps? Would anyone say that I earned that money? Asking for something is not earning it. There is no other area in life where we would believe that.

Look at Matthew 7:11:

“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him"

Jesus is talking about how our children ask for things like bread or fish, and he refers to those things they ask us for as gifts.

In John Chapter 4, Jesus told the woman at the well that she would ask for living water if she knew who he was, and he called it the gift of God. If you know the gift of God, and you know Jesus, you will ask him for the gift:

“Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” John 4:11

Everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is saved. Nothing could be clearer in scripture, and I’ve never said otherwise. That said, calling upon the name of the Lord is part of salvation. It’s the faith in our heart that saves us, and it is expressed out of our mouth. The prayer is a reflection of what is in our heart.

I personally believe that the attack on the sinner’s prayer is of the Devil. Giving people the Gospel using the Roman’s road and assisting them in a prayer is an effective soul winning method, so the Devil wants us to use less effective methods or perhaps become disillusioned with soul-winning altogether.

I use the tried and true Roman’s Road with a few additional verses, a strong emphasis on eternal security, and some review questions to make sure the person understands. If they say they believe, I lead them in a prayer.

I recently updated the Faithful Word Baptist Church events page. We have so many exciting events planned for this year, and we want you to stay up to date with events happening near you, so that you can plan to attend.

Also, some of you are starting to plan your own soul-winning marathons, which is great, but please check the events page first to make sure none of the soul-winning events conflict. Believe it or not, there are people who attend every single soul-winning event, so we are trying not to have any of them overlap.

Preaching & Soul-Winning Event in Trinidad

Preaching Service

I will be preaching on Friday, March 3, 2017, in Trinidad and Tobago. On that Friday night at 7:00 p.m., I’m going to be preaching in the "Blanchisseuse room" at the Courtyard Marriott hotel on Audrey Jeffers Highway, Invaders Bay, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

If you live anywhere in Trinidad or even elsewhere in the Caribbean, I’d love for you to join us at that preaching service if at all possible. I appreciate the sacrifices people make to attend these events, and it’s great to meet like-minded believers from other parts of the world.

Soul-Winning Event

Also, the next morning on Saturday, March 4th, we’ll be meeting in the hotel lobby at 9:30 a.m. to go out soul-winning. If you’ve never been soul-winning, this is a great opportunity to get out there and try it. We will have a few people with us that know how to do the talking, so if you want to be a silent partner, just show up at that hotel on Saturday morning, and I’ll send you out with someone else who is a more experienced soul winner.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.” Luke 10:1

This will be my second time visiting Trinidad, and I look forward to getting together with the people I met on my last visit and hopefully also seeing some new faces at the events. These type of events are not only a great way to spread the gospel and gain soul-winning experience, but they are also an opportunity to have fellowship with other Christians. For those of you who are single: sometimes sparks fly at these events--In fact, I’m told a couple recently get engaged at a soul-winning marathon held in the United States.

Again, we have a preaching service at 7:00 p.m. on that Friday night and soul winning on Saturday morning. We should have lots of preaching flash drives and preaching DVDs to give away as well as a few of our films. Everything we hand out at these events is free of charge if you show up to receive it in person. Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you there!

Garrett in Guyana: Days 14-16

Wednesday night was the first night of the 40-day Revival in Guyana. Brother Garrett Kirchway and one of the pastors of New Testament Baptist Church went out soul winning a few hours before the service. First, they gave a lady the gospel, and she got saved. Then, they asked if they could also talk to her husband who was working in the yard. He was from Venezuela and spoke only Spanish, but Brother Kirchway had a Spanish Bible and gave him the gospel using the newly saved wife as a translator. Not only did that couple get saved, but they both showed up that night at the revival service.

The first night of the revival went very well. They had just over a hundred people show up. Five people were saved at the service for a total of seven salvations that day, and three people got baptized in the beautiful new baptistery.

The dinner was chow mein and rice cooked outdoors in large woks on Guyanese-style wood burning stoves. The beverage they served with it was passion fruit juice. The ladies in the church worked hard all day to prepare this meal, which didn’t disappoint.

Brother Garrett Kirchway preached on the end times, and the people were riveted. The other sermons he has prepared for the revival cover the following topics: Once Saved Always Saved, Baptism, Manna/Bible Reading, Soul-Winning, Birth Control, Believe vs. Repent, Persecution, Sodomy, Blessed are They That Do his Commandments, Set No Wicked Thing Before Mine Eyes, Giving to the Poor, Bible Prophecy Foundations, and Laziness.

On the second day of the revival, they saw a total of four people saved. Interestingly, a young lady who Brother Kirchway won to the Lord before the church service happened to be the sister of someone he had gotten saved the day before. Pastor Ram Angad drove through the community with a bullhorn reminding people about that night’s service, and they had a larger number show up this time—about 130. Brother Kirchway preached again, and the dinner was a stir-fry with chicken, which he said was phenomenal.

The third day of the revival was the biggest day so far because there were 14 salvations and 5 baptisms! People are getting saved each day both before and after the revival services, both through door-to-door soul winning and at the service itself. Brother Kirchway is looking forward to reinforcements arriving from the USA, so that they can reach higher numbers of people out door-to-door.

The excitement is building as the revival continues, and they are hoping the attendance numbers will keep increasing as people invite their friends and family members. Every week or so during the revival, New Testament Baptist Church is going to give out a bike for those who bring the most visitors to church. This promotion is called “Pack the Pew.”

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23

The Bhagavad Gita Exposed as Satanic

I preached a sermon recently, exposing the false doctrines and weird teachings of the Hindu holy book, “the Bhagavad Gita.” Like other false religions, Hinduism is Satanic.

6 False Teachings of the Bhagavad Gita

1) The Lord of the Bhagavad Gita is the Devil himself.
2) Death doesn't matter, so killing isn't a big deal. (It’s just like changing clothes.)
3) We should not care about the fruits of our labor, which is a socialist philosophy.
4) Your personal, mystical experiences are more important than the scriptures.
5) You should worship your inner being or “self” as God.
6) It gives you the false hope that if you do good deeds, you will not be damned.

Excerpts from the Bhagavad Gita

The so-called "Lord" of this book calls himself “the king of snakes.” Here is another quote from the Bhagavad Gita where he talks about himself:

“I am the cow that fulfills all desires... I am the cosmic serpent... I am the god of death... I am born among the demons.” (Chapter 10)

Here is another quote from the book where the so-called lord is being addressed:

“Oh Lord, I see within your body all the gods and every kind of living creature. I see the creator seated on a lotus. I see the ancient sages and the celestial serpents.”(Chapter 11)

According to the Bible, the great serpent is Satan. Hindus are not worshiping the God we worship. The lord of the Bhagavad Gita is the Devil himself!

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9

How do you witness to a Hindu? You do it the same way you witness to everyone else. We don’t need a customized soul-winning plan for every religion because the Romans road is a one size fits all. The same plan of salvation that I present to a Catholic, a Jew, or a Jehovah’s witness is the same one I give to a Hindu. It’s the same Gospel that everyone needs to hear. I always recommend going through the same basic plan of salvation with everyone, and then tagging on at the end any issues that you need to deal with regarding their specific religion. For example, after I go through the basic plan of salvation with a Jehovah's Witness, I then spend a little extra time emphasizing the deity of Christ. At the end of preaching the Gospel to a Hindu, I emphasize the fact that they must trust Christ ALONE and must reject the Hindu gods.

Hindus are tough to reach, but it is possible. I ran into several people down in Guyana, including Pastor Ram Angad, who were raised Hindu but ended up getting saved. Hindus need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They need to be told that it’s Heaven or Hell, not reincarnation. They need to realize that Jesus Christ is the one true God and put their faith in him alone for salvation.

The Power of the Free Sample

13 years ago, when I was working in the fire alarm business, I was walking through a mall after finishing a job in a department store, when I was approached by a Chinese girl holding something on a toothpick. “You like free sample?” I accepted that morsel of orange chicken, and it was the best Chinese food I had ever tasted in my life. That was my first time ever trying food from Panda Express, and I’ve been eating there ever since.

I later became the pastor of a church and held soul-winning events all over America. At these events, we all met for lunch at Panda Express. Little did that young lady know, she was making thousands of dollars for her company with that one free sample.

Sometimes people will look at how many CDs, DVDs, and flash drives our church gives out and question whether we are spending too much money on those items. They are underestimating the power of the free sample. Businesses give out free samples all the time with great results. We aren’t trying to make a profit, but we ARE trying to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

People often get interested in Bible preaching after first hearing it at home. Many of them start coming to church as a result. In the early days of our church when only a handful of people were meeting in my living room, I made some preaching CD’s, which I displayed on a rack. I wasn’t sure that anyone would want them, and they sat there untouched for a while, even though I announced that they were free. One day, a church member named Amanda took a bunch of the CD’s home to give to her mom. The next Sunday, Amanda’s mom was in church with her.

One flash drive loaded with 25 or 26 hours of preaching could result in a chain of events that could change someone’s life. Wouldn’t you say that toothpick with the orange chicken was a pretty good investment? It may have taken me years to try Panda Express on my own, but instead they came to me.

There is definitely a spiritual application with the Panda Express story. We aren’t trying to make money, but we ARE trying to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. We don’t just wait for people to come to us—we go to them. We give people the gospel at their door, and we also give out free samples.

When someone gets saved at one of our door-to-door soul winning marathons or if we come across someone who is already saved, we give them a sermon flash drive. Once people start listening to biblical preaching, they often get under conviction about the fact that they are not attending a local church, or perhaps they realize that they need to change churches. Also, we hope that people will pass our materials on to their unsaved friends and family members who might receive Christ after hearing the salvation messages.

I know of many people who have gotten saved after someone gave them one of our documentaries. Countless people are now attending independent fundamental Baptist churches across the country as a result of hearing my preaching on church attendance. Many of these people are now soul winning themselves every single week. Handing out preaching samples works and will continue to be one of the most important financial investments we make.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 34:8

New! Book 1 1/2 for the Complete Church Piano Course

Thousands of people have used the Complete Church Piano Course over the last 5 years to learn how to play church piano. The books have gotten rave reviews and literally zero complaints. The course definitely works, but I’ve talked to a lot of people who have kind of stalled out in their learning. These people have completed Book One, but they are still struggling a little bit with the concepts introduced in Book Two.

Enter Book 1 ½. This new book is not necessary for completing the course, but it is a great supplement to help ease the transition from Book One to Book Two. Book Two is substantially harder than Book One, so I wrote Book 1 ½ to kind of bridge that gap and provide more practice songs at the beginner level.

If you’re at that point, where you are playing songs out of Book One, but Book Two is still just a little too difficult for you, then Book 1 1/2 is exactly what you need. Even if you are only about halfway to three quarters of the way through Book One, you’ll probably be able to jump right into Book 1 ½ and start benefiting from it right away.

Specifically, if you’re doing well with playing the songs in Book One with stationary chords but aren’t ready to tackle those broken chords yet, Book 1 1/2 will allow you to learn some additional songs that have been arranged using only stationary chords. It will also help ease you into playing broken chords, which are also used in some of the songs.

Book 1 ½ was designed to be used between Book One and Book Two and contains new information that is not found in any of the other books in the course. It introduces playing arpeggios in the left hand, which is a great way to add variety to your arrangements.

Not only that, but Book 1 ½ contains a bunch more songs, so if you aren’t playing straight from the hymnal yet, purchasing this book would be a great way to increase your repertoire. Here are the songs featured in Book 1 1/2:

Was Bob Gray Sr. Born That Way?

A couple weeks ago, I preached a sermon on Jeremiah 39 where I called out Johnny Nixon and his phony ministry, Born that Way Ministries. The name of Johnny Nixon’s book about Sodomites is Born that Way After All. Nixon teaches that Sodomites were “born that way,” meaning they are just confused "eunuchs." He expects us to believe that Sodomites just accidentally slept with a bunch of other men, when in reality, they aren’t attracted to men or women.

Born that Way After All is just a bunch of homo propaganda repackaged for Baptists. The book is so soft on Sodomites that it literally says that calling yourself straight is offensive because it implies that homos are crooked. Well the Bible calls them a lot worse than that. The Bible calls them filthy, brute beasts, vile, dogs, etc. "Born that Way" is a ridiculous false doctrine that turns the Bible on its head and turns the definition of a "eunuch" on its head.

I am shocked and saddened that Bob Gray Sr. is continuing to promote Born that Way Ministries. Instead of just admitting what Romans 1 teaches that God gave them over to vile affections and a reprobate mind, he has adopted the "born that way" false doctrine that gives him an excuse to conform to the world and welcome Sodomites into the church.

Of course, Hollywood and TV are going to promote the propaganda that says homosexuals are born that way, but when our independent fundamental Baptist churches start adopting the same Sodomite talking points, we are in serious trouble as a nation.

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23

I preached a sermon recently on "The Baby Boomer Generation" where I talked about how some of these older preachers don’t seem to care what kind of world they are leaving behind for their grandchildren. Unlike Bob Gray Sr., I actually care about my children, and I don’t want them to grown up in a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah.

You may think I am being too hard on Brother Gray, but he already had a chance to repent when guys like Brother Adam Fannin and I started exposing Born that Way Ministries. Instead of getting right with God and admitting that Born that Way’s philosophy is unbiblical, Bob Gray Sr. is just digging in by sharing Johnny Nixon’s post against me. Apparently, he wants a fight. Well, bring it on! Nobody can open up a King James Bible and show me that Sodomites are eunuchs, so Bob Gray won’t win this fight.

Supporting and/or promoting Born that Way Ministries is a deal breaker! If you are a Christian and you attend a church that supports Born that Way, you need to find another church. We cannot have fellowship with people who are teaching this garbage. I also encourage my fellow independent Baptist pastors to join me in the fight against this false doctrine. Don’t roll over and let the Sodomites take over this country. Those of us who care about our children and grandchildren need to take back the pulpits in this country and not let people like Johnny Nixon and Bob Gray Sr. destroy America.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Can Bob Gray Sr. Defend "Eunuch = Sodomite" Doctrine?

Bob Gray Sr. is trying to make this argument about whether or not homos are reprobates, but that’s not the doctrine I called him on. I called him out for supporting “Born that Way Ministries,” which teaches that Sodomites were born eunuchs. Bob Gray knows he can’t defend Johnny Nixon’s ridiculous misinterpretation of Mathew 19:12, so he keeps changing the subject. When I tried to challenge him on that, he blocked me on Facebook.

Blocking people on Facebook could become a full-time job for Bob Gray because people who used to look up to him are now questioning why he is partnering with Born that Way Ministries. Johnny Nixon of Born That Way isn’t exactly a separated, fundamental Baptist. A quick scan of his Facebook page revealed a Gandhi quote, a graven image with the caption “beautiful,” and an endorsement from the Duck Dynasty guy. Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is a member of the Church of Christ and believes in baptismal regeneration, but now that Bob Gray is defending Sodomites, I guess that doctrinal difference is no longer a big deal to him.

Just for clarification, Bob Gray’s son, Pastor Bob Gray II, disagrees with his dad in that he DOES NOT support Born that Way Ministries. When the Sodomite poster boy from Born that Way Ministries showed up in Longview claiming he was born a eunuch, Bob Gray II asked to see a doctor's note.

You see, Matthew 19:12 describes three types of eunuchs:

“For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.” Matthew 19:12

The eunuchs from their mother’s womb have some kind of congenital defect that either makes it impossible to engage in the marital act or prevents them from even having those desires. Those who were made eunuchs of men were of course physically castrated. The third type of eunuch is someone who chooses a life of celibacy on purpose for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. The verse does not say that the guy who was a eunuch from the womb was born that way for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. The person with the birth defect and the person who is an Apostle Paul type are clearly two different eunuchs.

Aside from that, what in the world does Matthew 19:12 have to do with homosexuality? Absolutely nothing! Yet "Born that Way Ministries" would have us to believe Sodomites are just confused "eunuchs" which is obviously absurd. Why would someone who God supposedly intended as a "eunuch" accidentally end up committing abominations with multitudes of other queer men? If these people are looking for an explanation as how homos got that way, they should try reading Romans 1 - a passage that actually mentions homosexuality and explains point blank how they got that way.

Instead of backing down or explaining his reason for supporting Johnny Nixon's ministry, Bob Gray Sr. just wants to change the subject to soul winning. I guess he doesn’t realize that virtually all of the people who are arguing with him on his page are just as passionate about soul winning. Our church has 11 different soul-winning times per week, but false doctrine still needs to be addressed.

Guyana Update as of February 2nd

The 40-day Revival in Guyana has a been a huge success and continues to gain momentum. In the past eight days, 80 souls have been saved, and 24 people have been baptized. New Testament Baptist Church in Guyana had more baptisms during the first week of the revival than they had last year for the entire 40 days! Attendance numbers are continually increasing aside from a slight setback during a storm. At last count, they had over 200 people in the service.

Missions board director, Chip Stowe, is attacking Pastor Ram Angad for associating with me and has even told Pastor Ram that he will miss the rapture and go to Hell! Even Chip’s wife, Angi Stowe, is attacking Pastor Ram on Facebook. I don’t know much about the Stowes except that they must really hate me. Maybe they should stop worrying about who is helping with the revival now that they are no longer involved in it.

People are getting saved at the revival services as well as during door-to-door soul winning. One of the most recent soul-winning highlights was three Hindu family members in one house all getting saved. Brother Garrett and his soul-winning partner went back to visit that family the next day and got a fourth family member saved. Praise the Lord!

Charlie Jeffrey from Faithful Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona, and the Gallaghers from Verity Baptist Church in Vancouver, Washington, recently arrived to help with the soul winning, and in one day, the team had 18 people saved out door-to-door.

Tell Your Pastor You Don't Want Bob Gray!

Bob Gray, Sr. continues to promote the perverted Johnny Nixon and his "Born that Way Ministries."

Homosexuals were NOT born any other way than anyone else! They weren't "born eunuchs" as these false teachers claim. They CHOSE to go down the dark path of rejected and hating God, which led them into the worst kind of perversion. The so-called LGBT are not victims: they are predators and pedophiles hell bent on infiltrating churches, schools, the boy scouts, and everywhere else they can.

Below is Bob Gray, Sr.'s preaching itinerary for 2017. If you go to one of the churches on this list, you should kindly and respectfully let your pastor know about Bob Gray's new "born that way" affiliation. He may not even be aware of this cute new "homosexuals are actually confused eunuchs" doctrine. Don't just let this garbage take over our churches without saying anything. Bob Gray is on the road to promote his Independent Baptist Online College, and pervert Johnny Nixon is the Bible teacher! Please explain the situation to your pastor, and I would suggest letting him know that if Bob Gray is preaching, you will be skipping that service. Either that, or people should use the opportunity to show up and try to talk some sense into Bob Gray. The following verse should guide you as you approach your pastor:

"Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;" - 1 Timothy 5:1

Remember, your pastor may not know that Bob Gray is promoting "Born that Way After All," so give him the benefit of the doubt going into the conversation.

Born that Way: A Doctrine of Convenience

As recently as 10 to 20 years ago, independent fundamental Baptists still preached hard against the Sodomites. I remember when I was a teenager, hearing pastor Steve Nichols thundering from the pulpit of Regency Baptist Church that they are recruiters, not reproducers.

I’ve also heard recordings of old-time preachers teaching the doctrine of rejecting God and becoming a reprobate. Some only loosely associated homosexuality with being a reprobate, but most of them at least understood what a reprobate was, and they knew that it is too late for some people.

Instead of preachers admitting they are compromising, they often pretend to agree with something they really don’t believe. Bob Gray knows he doesn’t personally believe that eunuch garbage, but for some reason, he is going along with it. I can’t figure out who he is trying to please by teaming up with Johnny Nixon, but perhaps someone out there can enlighten me.

An “old grizzled veteran” like Bob Gray Sr., who has been in the ministry for years, knows full well what a reprobate is. I realize he doesn’t agree with me jot and tittle, but it is dishonest of him to pretend he doesn’t know what I mean when I explain my position. He has created a strawman argument to change the subject and try to make me look like a heretic. He says I must not believe Christ died for everyone, and he’ll accuse me of being a Calvinist.

Bob Gray thinks he can skirt the real issue because he is counting on the ignorance of his followers who have sat under shallow, one-issue preaching for too long. The people defending him on his Facebook page don’t even seem to know what he believes about salvation since they are saying one has to repent of sins to be saved. Perhaps Johnny Nixon’s book is among the merchandise being sold on the back table at their churches because that’s the same type of salvation the book, Born that Way After All, teaches.

This eunuch thing is a doctrine of convenience. It is a way for compromisers to be more politically correct in their attitude toward Sodomites. Born that Way Ministries is an attempt to meet the Sodomites halfway. No doubt, some Sodomites will be willing to take a vow of celibacy in order to work in the children’s ministry of some church. Maybe when people find out the truth about Born that Way Ministries’ sinister agenda, they will jump ship, and churches like Faithful Word Baptist Church will become a refuge for families with young children.

False doctrine is often developed as a way to reconcile the teachings of the Bible with the world’s philosophies. I’m not that surprised that someone is teaching a false doctrine about eunuchs, but I am surprised it is being accepted by fundamental Baptists.

What’s next, Bob Gray? Theistic evolution? The gap theory? Lordship salvation? Oh, that’s right. It’s only okay to embrace a false doctrine if Brother Hyles didn’t specifically address it. The Sodomite issue wasn’t as much of a problem in Brother Hyles' day, but if he were alive today, he might need to preach on the subject more often.

Stay in your time warp, I guess. Be sure to warn people about the movie houses and the hippie movement. Meanwhile, I will continue to keep my congregation up to date on the important spiritual battles of today.

3 Things Churches Waste Money On

1. Church Building

Cathedral-style buildings with high ceilings may look impressive, but we can seat just as many people in an office space with basic drop-tile ceilings. To accommodate a congregation of 300 people and have adequate parking, a typical church building in the Phoenix area would cost around two million dollars to purchase. Having a building with bling factor does nothing to further the work of the Lord, and property ownership can end up being a drain on a church’s finances.

Have you noticed all the walls we’ve knocked down lately as we keep expanding? Our landlord paid for that. The property owner maintains and even remodels the property for us, which saves us a ton of money. Renting a space in a “strip mall” also gives us the flexibility to downsize to a smaller unit if attendance were to drop substantially.

2. Christian School

In Acts 6 where it talks about what pastors and church employees are supposed to be spending their time doing, there is no mention of a Christian school. There is no mention of a Christian school anywhere else in the Bible either. It is the job of the parents to raise their children, not the employees of the church. Not only is a church school unbiblical, but in order to keep tuition affordable, the school usually ends up leeching off of the church’s finances. I talked about this in my sermon on “The Christian Fool Movement.”

3. Bogus Missionaries

Instead of organizing their own fruit-bearing ministry, churches tend to throw a lot of money at missionaries. I’m all for supporting missions, but we should also be doing some of the work ourselves. A lot of “missions-minded” churches don’t have much of a soul-winning program, let alone plan their own missions trips. When we do support a missionary, we need to make sure he is a hard worker and not a MOOCHinary.

If you’ve ever struggled to find a good church in your area, then you know how many pastors are wrong on salvation and/or do not go soul-winning. Unfortunately, it’s even harder to find a doctrinally sound, productive missionary. Most missionary letters are vague, so churches often know very little about the day to day activities of the missionaries they support.

There just isn’t enough accountability when a missionary is supported by a hundred different churches that are each sending him 25 dollars a month. When a church takes on a missionary for support, they ought to send him a large enough amount, so that they actually care what he is doing.

We send money to missionaries we know personally who were bona fide soul winners before they headed off to the mission field. Other missionaries, we have gotten to know by visiting the mission field and seeing the work they are doing first hand. At the very least, churches need to make sure the missionaries they support are preaching the right plan of salvation and are regularly publishing quantifiable results.

Putting the "I" Back in IFB

Lately, I've been expressing my disappointment with Bob Gray Sr. as as one of the "leaders" of the IFB movement. This is not to say that the independent fundamental Baptist movement needs new leadership. Independent Baptist churches ought to be independent in every sense of the word. We need to stop elevating fundamental popes like Bob Gray Senior. Yes, we have conferences where we enjoy good preaching and have fellowship with like-minded churches, but without Bible colleges, we treat our pastor friends as equals.

Each pastor is the leader of his own church, and he has the power to send out faithful men who he feels are qualified to pastor their own churches. Churches should beget other churches, but as independent Baptist pastors, we should be careful not to create a new hierarchy. We need to maintain a lateral relationship with other pastors. Missions boards and Bible colleges dictating what is or is not preached in many churches is akin to a denomination.

Here's a start, independent Baptist...Throw away your Bible college notes, and do your own study on end times prophecy. If everyone did that, we’d have a lot more people believing in the post tribulation rapture. Or how about using your own common sense and spiritual discernment to determine what a biblical "eunuch" is and is not?

If you still have doubts about the "eunuch" thing, then visit Johnny Nixon’s facebook page to decide for yourself whether or not he is a separated, fundamental Baptist. Have you considered the source of "Born that Way Ministries" or are you just assuming it’s fine because Bob Gray Sr. supports it?

Everyone is susceptible to peer pressure, which can be both good and bad. That said, Bible college driven hierarchies can become too powerful of an influence. While one leader might make a positive impact, his successor might take things in another direction.

When you make the Bible your authority and let the Holy Spirit guide you, you are a true independent Baptist. If you see something wicked going on in other churches like this “Born that Way” garbage, then speak out against it. Don’t let some Bible college president muzzle you just because he is older and has a large following.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4

David Baker's Money-Making Scheme

In the process of exposing Johnny Nixon and Born that Way Ministries, I started digging a little deeper into this "Independent Baptist Online College" that Johnny Nixon and Bob Gray Sr. are involved in together. I noticed that the vice president of the college is David Baker who is also buddies with Johnny Nixon and “likes” everything Nixon posts on Facebook.

I came across this shocking infomercial where David Baker explains to pastors how they can make money by starting their own chapters of the unacredited online college. He basically wants pastors to get the young people in their churches to sign up for this online Bible college that they can do locally instead of going away to school, but it gets weirder...

Here’s how it works:

A pastor who signs up to start his own chapter of the college can make money by contributing one of his own classes. He is supposed to submit a video of himself teaching on some subject, and the members of his church who enroll in the college can pay to take that class. The tuition is 100 dollars per credit, and of that hundred dollars, the pastor who created the video and did the teaching only gets 30 dollars per credit.

In the example David Baker gives, he explains that if one hundred students each pay 200 dollars for a two-credit course, the pastor makes 6,000 bucks. Remember, the pastor only gets 30 percent, but these guys with the online college get 70 percent. That means David Baker and friends over at Independent Baptist Online College get 14,000 dollars for a class that some pastor taught in his own church!

The example course was “personal evangelism.” I guess as a pastor, I’m supposed to go to an empty room somewhere and talk into a camera and explain how to do soul-winning. Instead of uploading that video to YouTube where people can watch it for free, I should instead send it in to David Baker. He will then send it back to members of my church and charge them 200 dollars each to watch it.

Shouldn’t a pastor, who is already getting a salary to teach and preach the Bible, be giving people in his church this important information for free instead of charging them for it? Not only that, but why would anyone want to pay for an unaccredited online college anyway, when so much information is already available for free?

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10

Beware of Con-Artist Ram Angad (Missionary to Guyana)

As you may know, we have broken fellowship with Ram Angad and are no longer participating with the revival at New Testament Baptist Church in Guyana. We still have a soul-winning team down there from Faithful Word Baptist Church and Verity Baptist Church, but they are now focusing on even more door-to-door soul-winning and are planning to preach in several more public schools.

The following screenshot shows a shocking conversation between Ram Angad and Chip Stowe of Fundamental Baptist Home Missions, where Ram Angad admits to only using us for money. The highlighted sections are from Chip Stowe, and the rest is all Ram:

Like I mentioned in a previous post, mission board director Chip Stowe canceled  all of Ram’s support shortly after Ram had posted a video of me preaching in a school. They wanted him to make a video denouncing me and also denouncing the post tribulation rapture.

I thought Ram was taking a righteous stand by refusing to denounce me, but, as it turns out, he was just using us. One of the first major red flags was when I had to tell Ram he could not buy himself a 4-wheel drive truck with the revival money. Then someone sent me that screenshot where he basically admitted to lying and only working with us for the money. When I called Ram and confronted him about the screenshot, he did not deny sending those messages but tried to say it was “out of context.” He then changed the subject and tried to create an argument about the lyrics of the song, “Victory in Jesus,” which he had heard Brother Garrett mention in a sermon.

Here is the official letter where Chip Stowe tells supporting churches the reasons he cut off Ram Angad’s support. Notice he also mentions an “inappropriate conversation” where Ram was caught “pursuing” a young woman:

As you can see, Ram Angad is wicked and a total phony. Not only is he a married man who was caught trolling for adultery, but he is a pastor and missionary who does not seem to care about souls being saved. He led us to believe he was a soul winner, but the soul-winning during the revival was all done by our people, not him. I think Ram only tagged along with Brother Garrett Kirchway a couple of times as a silent partner. Come to find out, before we got there, Ram’s “soul-winning ministry” consisted of nothing more than handing out tracts.

Don’t feel bad if you donated money to Ram leading up to or during the 40-day revival since over 100 people were saved and 28 baptized during that event. People showed up for the food and heard a lot of great preaching from our own missionary, Brother Garrett Kirchway. Brother Garrett won many of the church members and visitors to the Lord both before and after the services. People who knew virtually nothing about the Bible before were trained to be effective soul winners. Those people who got saved, baptized, and trained during the revival were worth every penny!

Brother Garrett Kirchway accomplished a lot over the last three weeks, but we now have several more people helping him in Guyana, and they are out soul-winning every day with great results. Not only that, but I will be personally heading down there at the end of the month.

Ram is running out of money and is desperate for support, but the above evidence shows he is nothing more than a con artist. It is sad that New Testament Baptist Church doesn't have a legitimate pastor because people in Guyana are hungry for biblical preaching. Unfortunately, we can’t always tell the sheep from the goats, but consider yourself warned that RAM is a goat.

“And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew 25:22-34

4 Reasons FWBC has Been Blessed Financially

In the 11 years of Faithful Word Baptist Church’s existence, we have never had any debt. The church has always paid its bills on time, and we’ve always had an abundance of materials to give out. We’ve never asked people to dig deep and give more than their usual tithes and offerings, yet we haven’t had the financial problems that seem to plague so many churches. I believe that the following four principles will make God more likely to bless a church financially.

1. Sell nothing.

“And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.”

This is probably the angriest we have ever seen Jesus during his earthly ministry, and I believe this story was included in the Bible as a guideline for us. The problem was not the selling of animals because people did need to buy them for the sacrifices. The word “hence” means "from here."“Take these things hence” means take them away from here. The problem was that they needed to conduct their business elsewhere.

We do not sell anything in God’s house. Churches nowadays will sell books and CDs on the back table, and some will even go as far as to have a church bookstore and coffee shop. Not only should churches refrain from selling anything, but people should not peddle their own wares in God’s house either. For example, it would be wrong to hand out Mary Kay catalogues or try to sell someone a life insurance policy AT CHURCH.

2. Be Generous.

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38

Like other churches, we also have preaching CDs, Bibles, and other materials available, except we give those items away for free as opposed to charging people for them. Faithful Word Baptist Church gives away more free stuff than any church I’ve ever seen, and I believe we’ve been rewarded for that. The Lord provides plenty of extra Bibles and other supplies, so that the work can continue at full speed. Last year we gave out over 65,000 preaching CDs, DVDs, and USBs, and many thousands of Bibles in addition to that.

3. Get the gospel to as many people as possible.

“And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” Mark 13:10

Sermon CDs, DVDs and flash drives, advertising, soul-winning marathons, and missions trips are among some of the things we spend money on to extend our reach. We save money by renting instead of buying a building, so we are able to spend more on the important things.

The documentary “After the Tribulation” has not only debunked the pre-trib rapture for millions of people, but thousands have gotten saved after watching the Gospel presentation at the end of the film. Different topics interest different people, so we plan to continue to distribute a variety of audio and video materials to help get more people interested in biblical preaching.

4. We don’t hoard money; we spend every penny.

Before the end of each year we spend all of the money that has come in that year. Some would call that irresponsible, but I think going into debt on a building is irresponsible. I’d rather our church have zero dollars than go below zero. We don’t need a rainy-day fund because we are living by faith.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

New Video Review of Born that way After All!

When I first heard about Born that Way Ministries and preached against it, I had not yet read their perverted book, "Born that Way after All." I didn’t see the need to since there were articles on their website that confirmed the premise of the book, which is a false doctrine about eunuchs. Since everyone kept throwing in my face the fact that I hadn’t read the book, I finally bit the bullet and read the piece of crap.

Well the book was way worse than I expected. After reading the entire book, I have no doubt in my mind that the agenda of this ministry is to allow Sodomites to infiltrate churches, specifically children’s ministries! The word eunuch is used throughout the book as a code word for a Sodomite, and the book repeatedly teaches that “eunuchs” make great children’s ministry workers. Don't take my word for it - watch the video linked at the end of this post to see it with your own eyes!

The book even condones so-called eunuchs living together and showing affection toward one another—as long as it isn’t too much or too public. I guess we should just take the word of two “former same-sex sex addicts,” who happen to be living together that they are now eunuchs and give them a Sunday School class to teach. This book would be highly offensive to actual eunuchs since it paints eunuchs as flamboyant, cross-dressing queers.

In the section on cross dressing and transgenderism, they don’t even include the one verse in the Bible that says that if you do that, YOU are an abomination. If this is a Christian book and they really think they can fix these people, then why aren’t they teaching them the verse that commands against their sinful behavior?

“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.” Deuteronomy 22:5

Born that Way After All is true to its title because in one place it allows for the possibility that people might be born with homosexual tendencies because of our sinful nature. I guess they had to throw that in for the homos since the whole eunuch thing might not resonate with someone who is burning in lust for the same gender. This is also a way to get Christians used to the idea that Sodomites are "born that way."

Johnny Nixon and friends must be running scared since they just changed the title of the book! There are now two different titles available, even though they are both the same book. The website explains that the content is identical, so there is no need to buy both books. Maybe the new version, "Why Do Some People Think They are Gay?" will be marketed to the more conservative IFB crowd. Well changing the cover isn’t enough since I have exposed what is inside the book.

If you have watered-down Christian friends, you may have seen Pastor Greg Locke’s videos pop up recently in your Facebook newsfeed. The way that Greg Locke gets his following is by putting out a video about whatever is the current trending topic that week. He’ll act like he’s taking a hard stand on an issue, but in reality, he always just says what about half of America would agree with.

For example, he was all over the Target bathroom policy issue when that was in the news. Another topic he supposedly took a stand on was when he complained that a gospel singer was cancelled from being on the Ellen Degeneres show. Why isn’t anyone asking why a Christian would even want to be on that show anyway, when Ellen DEGENERATE is an open Sodomite!?

Wow, he’s pro-Christian and against the democratic platform. Locke’s videos just repeat the same mainstream media talking points from Fox News or conservative talk radio. It’s not that hard to stand up and say something millions of people will back you up on.

Not only is Greg Locke a mainstream neo-conservative, but he is extremely politically correct in his preaching. In his response to the Orlando shooting, he lumps homosexuals in with Blacks like they are just another minority group and condemns Christians who said the incident was the judgment of God. In that same video where he expresses his condolences to the entire “LGBT community,” he brags that he just had a “gay” man in his church service that morning.

It’s a major red flag when a pastor switches from being King James only and goes completely liberal. That’s right, Greg Locke used to be an independent fundamental Baptist. Obviously, this guy was always a fraud and infiltrator.

“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” 1 John 2:19

Frankly, Greg Locke couldn’t make it as an independent fundamental Baptist because his preaching wasn’t up to par. Even back when Locke was an IFB, I remember having a conversation with Brother Jimenez about how we didn’t care for him and couldn’t understand how he even got preaching engagements.

Once Locke found out he couldn’t gain the popularity he wanted in IFB circles, he just defected over to the worldly, sissified, skinny jeans wearing, bar stool sitting, purple lighting, non-denominational, praise and worship style of church.

Here is a quote taken from Pastor Greg Locke’s doctrinal statement:

“Salvation is truly everlasting life; however, those who have trusted Christ are his and will obey him and his word. We do not believe a person can live any way they so desire and be saved.”

This is not the Gospel. Salvation is a free gift. Locke tries to make it sound like you’ll do all the right things because you’re saved, but then in the next breath he says you can’t live however you want and be saved. It’s really just a thinly-veiled works salvation, and this type of double speak is just what one would expect from a politician like Pastor Greg Locke.

I just got a strike on my main Youtube account for "hate speech," so other ways of getting the message out there might be more important than ever. Once the internet becomes heavily censored, USB flash drives might have to replace Youtube as the primary method for distributing recordings of biblical preaching. The great thing about flash drives is that they are smaller and more durable than a CD or DVD and can hold a lot more sermons. They can be played on a smart TV, a laptop, some video game consoles, and in most newer cars. Hopefully, we can get preaching flash drives into the hands of millions of people who can listen to them and then pass them on to others.
